  11. Crayons, ball-point pens, Aspirin, balloons, candles, cameras, detergents, glue, nail polish, Trash bags, yarn, and shampoo are all products made from petroleum. Many environmentalists would like to stop using oil, but most people would never give up. I wonder what will happen when the oil runs out. What will people substitute for the oil? These everyday item would be very hard to live without.

  20. Although we may not notice it, our lives depend heavily on petroleum. We use it for everything from faux fur to diesel fuel. We clean our hair with petroleum based shampoo and soothe our rashes with petroleum jelly. We use petroleum in our lipstick to make girls look better, and use it in the soles of our shoes to keep the asphalt from burning our feet. We use candles made from petroleum based wax to make our rooms smell better, and we put motor oil in our car to run smoothly. We take Pepto-Bismol calm our upset stomachs and diarrhea and give our children Baby Asprin to help them when they are teething. We depend on petroleum for everything in our normal lives, and this wont end anytime soon.
